Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT


The Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT has been named 'Best of the Best' in the sedan category by the American luxury lifestyle magazine Robb Report.
Maserati competes directly with Aston Martin and Jaguar, and sometimes with large German mass-producers, including Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW

The Italian car was chosen in the annual rankings over the Bentley Continental Flying Spur, the Audi S8, the BMW M5 and the Maybach 57Sc, a statement from the Italian carmaker announced.

1914

The Italian manufacturer of racing cars and sports cats, established in Bologna.

1926
Tipo 26, the first Masemti is born and sports the Trident logo.

1929
The V4, a 16-cylinder engine debuts at the Italian Grand Prix.

1932
SC 2500 with front-wheel drive and the 4CTR designed by Alfieri Maserati is launched.

1936
The 6 CM debuts and Maserati gains a competitive edge in the voiturette class.

1937
Maserati Brothers sell interest in the Company to the Orsi family.

1954
Maserati 250F debuts, wins the Argentine Grand Prix.

1957
Maserati retires from the racing circuit.

1962
Sebring introduced, followed by the Quattroporte.
Also the vear that the Maserati 4-door saloon is r~leased, having a 90-degree V-S engine

1965
Maserati supplies engines for Formula 1 racers and develops a 3-valve, 12-cylinder engine with a triple ignition for Cooper.

1968
Citroen purchases 100% of Maserati shares.

1971
The first mass produced mid-engine Maserati, the Bora, debuts at the Geneva Motor Show

1975
Benelli purchases a majority of Maserati's shares.

1976
Kyalami lmmches Post Turin Motor Show, the Quattroporte III is introduced.

1993
Fiat Auto purchases 100% of Maserati's shares; four years later sells it to Ferrari.

1998
The 3200 GT is introduced to the public. Maserati is soon producing over 2,000 CatS annually.

1999
Spyder debuts at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

2002
The Coupe makes its appearance at the Detroit Motor Show.

2005
Maserati transferred fi.•om Ferrari to Fiat.

2007
Maserati makes profit for the first time in the 17 yeats under the Fiat Group; sells 2,540 cars in the USA.
